A Letter to the Youth of the World

Dear Apathetic Digital Generation

Why do you wait? Why are we sitting on the sidelines? Why do we watch and never react?

One thing we must all realize is that we are all dissatisfied with the current status quo. For in actual fact the status is not quo. The gap between the poor and the rich in our capitalist society is continually growing greater. The government makes it essential that we all go into post secondary education and take on huge debt loads as a mechanism of control. Why? Because we just don’t care, it’s as simple as that. None of us really care what is going on. Why is that? Because we perceive that it is easier to just not deal with the issues that all of us see in the world. We all see that the current state of politics just doesn’t work, we all see that our governments have 4 year goals and no further. We all see the environmental destruction all in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. However what many don’t realize or don’t care to, is that the idea of industry is relatively new in the history of the human race. We destroy our landscapes and environment willingly and happily all in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. We all see it, we all see the world getting warmer, our winters getting more milder, the arctic ice decreasing, the seas rise, the landscape around us becomes increasingly polluted by our perceived need to capitalize on all resources, sacrificing the stability of nature as a result. This is not some freak event, it is the truth. However you all choose not to see it because it is easier to ignore it then to deal with the truth. We are all guilty, no one is innocent.

However this guilt that dwells within each of our bodies is something that can unite us all. We all know these truths, whether willing to admit it or not, we all can see them staring us in the face. All with access to television and internet all see the horrible atrocities and environmental destruction daily. However we choose to ignore it because we perceive that we can have no impact on the status quo.

You have all been tricked by the media into this sense of apathy. What we must all realize is that WE the digital generation will inherit the world from our forefathers. WE must change the world for the better or accept that WE all are doomed. WE must stand up for ourselves and the future of the world. WE must act immediately to rectify the current situations. Why do WE wait? Why do we accept that we must be old and decrepit to run the world? Why wait on tomorrow when WE all can see that WE must act now? WE know the governments of the world all just argue and squabble about who is the best at what, or who did what wrong, but why is it never what WE all can do to make things right? Who really gives a shit about which Politian is corrupt and did something illegal? No one is the answer, no one really fucking cares. What WE do care about is the world, our landscape, our peoples. Yet politicians are too busy squabbling to do anything productive. They can only see as far as four years in advance, as much as needed to keep themselves in power. FUCK THAT! Crude yes, but FUCK THAT INDEED!!! They need to care for the future of the world, not the future of their parties.

I am an angry Youth and I care about the world. I care about us, I care about the people, I care about you, and I care about me, I care about WE. WE as the next generation all see the problems of the world so why wait. WHY WAIT!!! WHY WAIT!!!!!! We need to seize power now, we need to run for political office, we need to act now. NO LONGER CAN WE AFFORD TO SIT IN SILENCE!!!! NO LONGER CAN WE STAY PASSIVE!!!! THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!!!! The rest of the world is at arms and tired of the current states of ‘democracy’. We MUST use the system to bring down our parents generation. WE MUST SEIZE CONTROL NOW!!! If we do not change things drastically quickly, we are all lost. We are all done for, there will be no WE there will be nothing. Our parents generation is passive and greedy and unwilling to change. The youth of the 70’s tried to change the generations for the better but failed. We now are digitized. We understand the internet WE ARE POWERFUL!! WE KNOW THE FUTURE TECHNOLOGY!! For the comprehension of modernity is power, and no other generation controls the modernity which is the digital world better then our own. So unite!! Stand together against the tyranny of the baby boomers. Stand against greed, stand against destruction, stand together for equality of WE. WE are the youth, WE are the future, the generations of yore have FAILED US! They have failed and it is now time for them to step down and let us take their place. The status quo usually dictates experience over youth. However our witnessing of their continual failure all in the attempts of monetary gain tells us their time is done. Their time is over, it is now time for change, they are all too set in their ways to see it and accept it. Let us unite together as the next generation and topple the pyramid of the status quo. APATHY ENDS NOW!!! WE NOW MUST CARE!!! OR FACE THE EXTINCTION OF THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE BY OUR FORFATHERS!!! NOW IS THE TIME NOT LATER!!!!! NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!! THIS IS OUR TIME NOT THEIRS!!! THEY HAD THEIR TIME AND THEY FUCKED US ALL!! THEY FUCKED THE WORLD WITH GREED! THEY DESTROY CULTURE AFTER CULTURE!!! OUR TIME IS NOW!! THIS IS OUR TIME!!!!!! WE ARE THE COLLECTIVE, WE ARE THE YOUTH WE ARE THE CHANGE, WE WE WE WE WE WE WE!!!!!

The ignoring of our woes stops now. We must stop it or face annihilation by ourselves, the answer is simple, we all change and act now or we all accept our fates and march into oblivion.
